We went to Canon City, CO (pronounced Canyon) with our Louisiana parents and saw the Royal Gorge.  It was breathtaking, literally.  It's about 1000 feet deep.  If you look close at the Arkansas River picture you can see tiny little telephone poles and a railroad track.  Billy likes to mountaineer in his flip flops by the way, and drive 60mph on switchbacks (dirt roads with no guard rails on cliffs). 

Pike's Peak 2010

 Our parents from Louisiana (Linda & Wayne) came to visit August 2010 and we had a grand time!  Pike's Peak was our first destination.  Here's a few of the pic's, which don't even come close to seeing the real thing.

We were driving along enjoying the view and just happened to notice movement in the rock.  We've been dying to see Big Horned Sheep since we've lived here.  Finally, in their natural environment.  We stopped off at a launch site for kayak's and fly fishing, there was a local woman there too who said, "I live here and it's rare that we see them", so, we consider ourselves very fortunate.

MONARCH MOUNTAIN CLOSING DAY APRIL 2010

A friend of Billy's from work gave us some passes to Monarch, so we loaded up the Sx4 and headed to the slopes for the last day of the season.  We discovered that it is advantageous to go in fall or spring rather than full-on winter, since the sun is out, the temperature is nice, and one is less likely to get sick.  It was really fun, Billy's skills have excelled, mine are about the same.  Billy went down about 5 times without falling.  I could only go down 3 times and fell every time.  I'm on a carb restricted diet so my legs locked up every time.  Next time I'll be sure to eat for the occasion.  It was still fun.  People were next to naked due to the temp.  Every one had sunburn.  I took pictures while Billy kept going back up the mountain.

The Best Christmas Present

Baby is the gift that keeps on giving. She loved her little spot under the tree. Thanks Santa!!!

Billy 2010

Billy and I were playing around with the camera. This day we took a trip to Guitar Center, (every musician's favorite store-Toy's are us for big kids).

What a poser!

I did a photo shoot with a local photographer Jospeh Ramone who literally saw me on the street and asked to shoot me. After long and careful consideration, with Billy's suggestion, "Why don't you take a friend with you just in case he's a serial killer", I finally did it. My friend Amanda was usefull in more ways than one, she helped with hair/make-up and she held some photo equipment for the flash/lighting. Mr. Ramone was very professional and we came out alive and have some good photos to show for it. We did a trade, he uses the photo's to promote his business and I get a professional photographer for free. Let me again reiterate, this was very scary for me since my mom and dad taught me to be very cautious of strangers. Thanks parents and Billy!!

Every night our family gathers in the living room to watch tv, read, snooze. Billy sits on the red sofa, and I sit on the chaise. I'll cover up with this soft faux fur throw with my legs "Native American" style and Baby jumps up automatic to curl up in my "Native American" style blanket nest. Every time. That's just what we do.

Georgee's bed.

This is Georgee's bedroom and bed. Tell me he's not pampered. That's a damn shame! What a cat. If Georgee hears me running a bath, he jumps down and comes in the bath room to chill with me while I take a bath. Every time! That's just how we do.

Billy the snowman in Keystone

Billy and I took a scenic trip through the Colorado Rocky's, in hopes of going snow boarding at night in Keystone. When we got there we learned that night ski has designated nights and Sunday is not one of them. So, this is us leaving. Oh well. At least we enjoyed the scenery on the tour there, GORGEOUS! Nothing like a Sunday drive through the Rockies.
